KBR's SAF Solutions

At KBR, we stand out for our experience, with our topmost SAF pathway HEFA-SPK contributing 95% of global capacity. We deliver experienced teams, from feasibility study to EPC and startup, achieving commercial-scale plants in under two years.
The FT-SPK and ATJ-SPK are top pathways contributing to the remaining 5% of global SAF capacity. KBR has extensive experience performing feasibility studies, FEL 0 through FEL 3 (FEED) design and cost estimating.
We can provide recommendations for licensed process design and successfully have them integrated into the licensor's base design as the standard offering.
We also have experience in implementing SAF optimization and value improvement strategies.
KBR resources have FEED to EPC pretreatment unit (PTU) project experience with all available licensed PTU technologies.

We are currently working on several real-world projects at various stages in their development, side by side with licensed technology providers.
We understand there is a high demand in SAF and a short production rate. We know where the gap is, why it exists and have developed a solution to solve the problem.
KBR has experience evaluating and selecting technologies based on customer’s feedstock availability, geographic location, feedstock and product logistics and distribution.
Hydrogen, OSBL utilities and balance-of-plant support are crucial to SAF production. KBR’s expertise includes evaluating technologies and selecting pathways, covering both grassroots components and the integration of auxiliary units in standalone design settings and repurposed and reutilized refining facilities globally.
KBR specializes in recycling by-products from SAF production and integrates pre and post-combustion capture, heat integration, power generation and waste minimization. This includes mature but novel strategies to reduce the carbon intensity of the SAF product life cycle.
