KORD’s directed energy team has been built and led the U.S. Army’s effort to develop its first fieldable high-energy laser (HEL) weapon system. The effort will ultimately result in the fielding of the Directed Energy Maneuver - Short Range Air Defense (DE M-SHORAD) system designed to defeat UAS, rotary and fixed-wing; rockets, artillery, and mortars (RAM). In addition to the development and integration of directed energy systems, KORD’s extensive training experience is unparalleled. The KORD team owns a long list of “firsts” for directed energy systems.

FIREFLYTM
The FIREFLYTM is based on KORD’s scalable high-energy laser architecture and is available in 10kW to 30kW options. The fully self-contained laser system includes power supply, thermal management, high-capacity batteries and integrated radar and electronic warfare subsystems with significantly reduced size, weight, power and cost affordability.
