Global Positioning System (GPS) Interference and Navigation Tool
Mission-level simulation evaluating impacts of Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) system performance on operational effectiveness in benign or electronic combat environments. GIANT has been applied to thousands of analyses by civilian and military communities supporting research and development, acquisition, test and evaluation, training, concept of operations development, mission planning and operations. GIANT has been continually upgraded, adding fidelity and functionality, to reflect the evolution of the PNT enterprise architecture, GPS augmentations, other GNSS and network-centric technologies.

Modeling, Simulation, Analysis
As the Air Force’s standard model for GPS, GIANT predicts and visualizes PNT system performance and its impact on mission effectiveness in realistic current and future threat scenarios.

Reliable PNT is critical to achieving full-spectrum dominance through unified action and is integral to the conduct of joint operations across the range of military operations.

Focused Tools
GIANT provides focused tools such as the Reliability Prediction Model (RPM) for frequency clearance and the GPS environment generator (GEG) for distributed simulation and high-level architecture (DIS and HLA) in exercises.

GIANT models Regional Navigation Satellite Service (RNSS) and other Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) constellations and user-equipment, such as Galileo and BeiDou etc.

Real-time Data Feeds
GIANT supports numerous DoD data feeds, including constellation status, allowing it to ingest current mission data for analyses.

GIANT has evolved from a constructive simulation and analysis tool to support live and virtual exercises and experiments, web-based applications and air and space operations centers.

Alternative/ Complementary PNT
To provide comprehensive PNT solutions, GIANT models alternative and complementary PNT signal sources including Doppler. GIANT also represents tightly- and loosely coupled Kalman filter GPS/INS integration as well as tracking loop-based receivers.
