SIGNAL MODULATORS

Modulator systems are capable of varying the amplitude, frequency or phase of a generated RF signal. The flexibility of such systems makes them ideal for use as threat representatives in equipment test and evaluation applications. KBR offers systems capable of analog and digital modulation.

Portable Jamming System

The Portable Box Jammer (PBJ/GATER) is a portable GPS jammer for companies to test their commercial GPS products (antennas, receivers, etc.). The system was designed as a turn-key system to be a portable GPS jammer that is capable of producing multiple waveforms through a software defined arbitrary waveform generator. PBJ provides a flexible source architecture which allows rapid development and insertion of new threat waveforms when identified. PBJ also eliminates the dependency on hardware-based waveform solutions, improves the timeliness of a new waveform generation and reduces the form factor required to maintain and generate a wide variety of waveforms. Systems come in 100-watt models (PBJ-100).

The system comes with an Ethernet-based Analog Noise Generator which generates true Gaussian noise modulation and blinking modes. The system’s digital signal source provides the bulk of the unit’s modulations, which can hold six 2 GB FPGAs with 4-channel outputs. The system has its own 10 MHz timing reference and is remote controllable for operation in remote locations.

The Portable Jamming System (PJS), is a portable GPS jammer developed for companies to test their commercial GPS products (antennas, receivers, etc.). PJS utilizes a software-defined arbitrary waveform generator which allows for rapid development and insertion of current and new threat waveforms along with an analog noise generator providing true Gaussian noise.

The system is equipped with a real-time spectrum analyzer for power monitoring and signal verification. The system is capable of full wireless remote operation allowing for placement in areas that require personnel to evacuate during operations. The system is available in 100- and 300-watt output power models (PJS-100 and PJS-300, respectively).

The system is housed in ruggedized rack-mount transit cases providing protection from shock, vibration and the environment. By using multiple systems, GPS EC threat laydowns can be created using the latest signal techniques and variable power levels with an array of antenna types.

Wireless Bomb Jammers

KBR offers a variety of wireless bomb jammers which provide proven protection against current threats for single vehicle applications. Units outfitted in every vehicle will provide coverage for large convoys and smaller two or three vehicle parties.

WBJ devices are inexpensive, easy to assemble and quick to deploy. WBJ protects against the latest threats and is field programmable to ensure protection against tomorrow’s threats.

Ordered systems can be factory–modified to operate with specifications that best fit customer requirements. Modifications can include an expanded threat handling capability (GPS, sawtooth & H2K) and added power for extra coverage.

All orders come with an I/O box power plug, power cable, communications cable, documentation, operating software and omni-directional EW antenna.

Micro GPS Jammers

The Micro GPS Denial System is also available as a complete EW-GPS combat system centered around KBR's MGJ unit. In addition to the GPS jammer, this system package includes four antennas that operate within the GPS frequency range and a quick-deploy tower for rapid site setup and tear-down for mobility requirements.

FEATURES

The MGDS has two RF outputs for simultaneous broadcast at the 1575 & 1227 MHz GPS range.
The unit is fully field programmable with a laptop via an RS-232 communication port.
An MGDS unit is capable of operating up to 15 hours when connected to a 45 A/h battery.
The system can be customized to handle many threats.

The Micro GPG Jammer is an EW jammer created specifically for GPS systems. The unit uses active EW jamming and deception techniques to prevent adversaries from effectively operating GPS systems. It has been designed for use as a transportable system, resulting in a product that is lightweight, portable and robust.

High Powered Jammer

KBR is a market leader in customizable jammers. The HPJ (High Powered Jammer) is one example of a mobile jamming solution controlled by our DTE software enclosure. It was designed from the ground up to include a custom-engineered trailer built in-house to withstand the rugged environments these systems will have to sustain. We worked through meticulous details with our customer to ensure it met all their needs and was preconfigured for expansion of future capabilities if needed.
