KBR is integrating AI with traditional modeling and simulation (M&S) tools; enabling government organizations to improve model performance while delivering a more intuitive user experience. We’re using AI to simplify deployment and configuration, provide real‑time guidance to analysts, and automate tasks such as scenario generation, documentation, and workflow support. In wargaming and mission analysis, AI‑enabled assistants are helping users rapidly explore courses of action, adapt scenarios on the fly, and surface insights more quickly, supporting faster, more informed decision‑making. By embedding AI directly into M&S environments, we are reducing time‑to‑analysis, increasing adoption, and enhancing the effectiveness of complex simulations across both technical and operational communities.

Predicting enemy behavior in wargaming scenarios
Red Force Response (RFR) is our proof-of-concept decision and training support tool. It integrates AI with wargaming simulation to rapidly predict enemy Course of Action (CoA) and evaluate the effectiveness of friendly orders. Our tool uses Red AI-trained agents that have been developed based on in-game data and reward profiles that reinforce desired behaviors and objectives. It exploits state-of-the-art reinforcement learning algorithms to promote collaboration towards common goals in a multi-agent environment. Our intelligent adversary agent can find both high performance and novel CoAs based on the reward profile, observations, and actions provided to it. We have also shown the tool is effective at evaluating mission success for different Blue Force CoAs.
Campaign Analysis with AI Automation
We integrated AI into BEAM, our enterprise model that simulates major military campaigns across ground, maritime, air, cyber, and space domains. BEAM produces a wealth of outcome information including the probability of achieving campaign phase objectives at every time step of a simulated campaign. Our AI Agents enhance human analyst – model teaming; reducing the time required to produce actionable information, while generating even deeper insights from the vast amount of BEAM output data.
